Ricky Gervais: Hilarious or a little harsh? – The Marquee Blog - CNN.com Blogs: "But the Hollywood Reporter believes everyone should lighten up. 'It made for compelling — if sometimes wince-inducing — television,' adding, 'The trouble is, the awards are for the people in the business, but the show itself is for the viewers at home. There’s only so much sycophantic back-slapping anyone can take without a little needling to burst the ego bubble.'
Gervais feels the same. 'I hope they can all take a bit of roasting from a nobody like me,' he told the L.A. Times. 'Did I think twice about any of [the jokes]? No I didn't. I'd say any of that to their faces, I'd walk up to them and say it. That's the test for me. And it's in good fun.'"

Wikiquote: Benjamin Franklin
"I think all the heretics I have known have been virtuous men. They have the virtue of fortitude or they would not venture to own their heresy; and they cannot afford to be deficient in any of the other virtues, as that would give advantage to their many enemies; and they have not like orthodox sinners, such a number of friends to excuse or justify them. Do not, however mistake me. It is not to my good friend's heresy that I impute his honesty. On the contrary, 'tis his honesty that has brought upon him the character of heretic."

Now compare previous quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin to the one that follows...
wrote
Benjamin Franklin of Benedict Arnold,
an American general who defected to the British Army during the War of Independence.
Demonized as a traitor in his home country,
he relocated to England after the war,
but
was viewed with mistrust even there.
Not only do they seem to contradict each other,
was there really already that many

Understanding Benedict Arnold - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Benedict Arnold - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Fictional invocations of Arnold's name also carried strongly negative overtones. A moralistic children's tale entitled 'The Cruel Boy' was widely circulated in the 19th century. It described a boy who stole eggs from birds' nests, pulled wings off insects, and engaged in other sorts of wanton cruelty, who then grew up to become a traitor to his country. The boy is not identified until the end of the story, when his place of birth is given as Norwich, Connecticut, and his name is given as Benedict Arnold. However, not all depictions of Arnold were strongly negative. Some theatrical treatments of the 19th century explored his duplicity, seeking to understand rather than demonize it."

"You have this need to be...
HONEST!"
~(Dr. Deriso)~
Find it interesting we have Benjamin Franklin coming the defense of a good friend heresy; claiming Benedict Arnold to have been a be a virtuous man because of his honesty.
Upon graduation from Lousiana State University - School of Veterinary Medicine,
Dr. Deriso was the first veterinarian I worked for at his Bird Road Animal Hospital in Miami, Florida.
He immediately set to work trying to change what I had been taught in school.
His basic philosophy...
you treat the client, not the pet.
He actually found it a fault of mine, that I shared more information with the clients about their pets than he thought necessary; usually options the clients could consider that were less expensive than any course of treatment he would recommend.
Over time,
what I thought was just him being an exception, turned out to be pretty much the norm.
But I will say this in defense of most veterinarians I've worked for...
not entirely the veterinarians' fault.
Overtime,
the unreasonable, irrational, demanding clients have a way of wearing you down.
I can see why many veterinarians have given up
and
just started assuming these clients were the rule instead of the exception.
Also,
not only is my birthday,
January 14th,
the same as Benedict Arnold;
chosen as Prescott High School Senior Class of 1980...
Daughters of American Revolution Good Citizen.
Can't help but find it strange,
although my mother was a Wolfe, her mother was a Franklin.

Active Template Library - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"The Active Template Library (ATL) is a set of template-based C++ classes developed by Microsoft, intended to simplify the programming of Component Object Model (COM) objects. The COM support in Microsoft Visual C++ allows developers to create a variety of COM objects, OLE Automation servers, and ActiveX controls.[1] [2] ATL includes an object wizard that sets up primary structure of the objects very quickly with a minimum of hand coding.
Controls for the Internet market could have been made with the Microsoft Foundation Classes, but the market requires controls to be small and compact for downloading over the network from Web servers. MFC applications tend to be large and require support DLLs. [3] ATL allows creating smaller controls without support DLLs, so ATL is in a sense a lightweight alternative to MFC for the COM control environment.
A common use of ATL in ASP (Active Server Pages) is to construct objects that can be called from a script. While limited in certain respects, VBScript is able to call C++ Windows code contained in a COM object.
On July 28, 2009, Microsoft released a patch to ATL to fix a bug that could allow ActiveX controls created using ATL to be vulnerable to a remote code execution security flaw. [4]"

Then I googled "Pho3". Weird. Mostly about genes. 3 vs 5. Then the one Arabidopopsis thaliana. Started singing: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious :
(pronounced /ˌsuːpərˌkælɪˌfrædʒəlˌɪstɪkˌɛkspiːˌælɪˈdoʊʃəs/) is an English word, with 34 letters, that was in the song with the same title in the 1964 Disney musical film Mary Poppins. The song was written by the Sherman Brothers, and sung by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. It also appears in the stage show version of Mary Poppins.
Since Mary Poppins was a period piece set in 1910, period sounding songs were wanted. "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" sounds like contemporary music hall songs "Boiled Beef and Carrots" and "Any Old Iron".[1]

The Legend of Blue Willow
Two little birds are flying high
A little vessel sailing by
A weeping willow hanging o'er
A bridge with three men, if not four
A Chinese castle, there it stands
'Twas if were lord of all the lands
A tree with many apples on
And a fence at the bottom that ends my song

Palin's words reach back to sordid history - FoxNews.com: "Blood libel dates back to the 12th century in England, France, Germany and elsewhere in Europe, when many Christians believed that Jews killed children, usually boys, for supposed rituals including re-enacting the crucifixion of Christ, historians say. According to the belief, Jews would torture and kill the children and use their blood, often to make matzoh, the 'bread of affliction' that is central to celebrating the Jewish holiday of Passover.
'That was the Christian fantasy,' Hsia said. 'In some of these cases, the Jewish community was interrogated and in many cases people were tortured into confession and executed. Sometimes the Christian authorities tried to intervene, but sometimes the authorities also believed in the supposed allegations.'"

Giffords 'hero' intern springs into action after shooting - CNN.com: "'My main thing was just to keep her as alert as possible and just keep trying to interact with her. ... The entire time I was with the congresswoman, she was still responding,' Hernandez said. 'She was obviously in a lot of pain, so I let her know to squeeze my hand as hard as she needed to.'
She 'was my first and only priority,' Hernandez added later in a CNN interview. I was 'trying to take care of her emotional needs' and 'keep her calm.'
After the ambulance arrived, Hernandez rode with her to the hospital.
As details emerged about Saturday's shooting and its aftermath, praise poured in for Hernandez's role.
'I just really think he's one of the heroes here, because I think it's possible that his swift thinking and his training is what saved her life,' said state Rep. Steve Farley of Arizona."
