CHARLOTTE – President Barack Obama is set to describe tonight a program for providing jobs and opportunities to a still-struggling nation, burnishing a record battered by economic realities and political obstructions as he asked voters to return him for a second term.
“You will face the clearest choice of any time in a generation,”
he said in excerpts released before his speech to the Democratic National Convention. Noting proposals to cut taxes, slash programs and significantly reduce government spending by his Republican rivals, Obama said voters have
“a choice between two fundamentally different visions for the future.”
