As hunger/thirst can be considered a justification from the the perpective of all things plants and animals being GOD's children as well; then my conjecture (conclusion) at this time and point in life would be our ability for abstract thoughts being the difference.
Therefore, with the help of Carl Jung's collectiv(?) conscienc(?) and Einstein's E=mc2 (i)'ve reasoned, before there can be a conflict, there must be a common interest. Before there is an advantage, there must be a difference.
