Independence Day (United States) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Independence Day, also commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States of America commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain (now officially known as the United Kingdom). Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the National Day of the United States.
During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. A day earlier, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail:
The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.Historians have long disputed whether Congress actually signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, even though Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Benjamin Franklin all later wrote that they had signed it on that day. Most historians have concluded that the Declaration was signed nearly a month after its adoption, on August 2, 1776, and not on July 4 as is commonly believed.
In a remarkable coincidence, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence later to serve as Presidents of the United States, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Although not a signer of the Declaration of Independence, but another Founding Father who became a President, James Monroe, died on July 4, 1831, thus becoming the third President in a row who died on this memorable day. Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President, was born on July 4, 1872, and, so far, is the only President to have been born on Independence Day.

the person I spoke to just before slamming the cellphone against the floor then being admitted to the Delak Crisis Center was MOTHER!
I WILL GET A RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST HER!MY ONLY OTHER OPTION IS TO KILL HER!
Dear sweet but STUPID big sister....you do realize that's against the law don't you?
But then again......you're the GREEDY one of us three....?

Dear Jim Ed, Please don,t assume that I don;t have time for you. I can get a tennis sub anytime I want or need to. As far as Tunica, it keeps Richard happy and it gives me a day to do what I want to usually! I have a family who loves you unconditionally but they don't like you upsetting their NINNY right now!!!!!! On top of that YOU live so DAMN far away from us that it is hard for any of us to be able to sit down and talk to you Why did you wait so long to tell us how you really feel and let it get so out of control!! COME HOME, BRING THE CATS AND LET''''S ALL GO TOGETHER FOR SOME COUNCILING. I don't know any family that is perfect and dosen'[t have problems!!! Mom and I will and want to come help you get your house back together and we won;t exspect you to entertain us!!!You need some help getting the house in order and what better two people than your loving mom and sister. We are two individuals with our own minds that think like we want to but it dosen't mean that we don't understand you or that we think you are so wrong! You are a lot like Mother in that you are so hard headed and don't like the way the rest of your family thinks. Sure I seem stupid to you but I don't judge you and try to change your views. I love you Jim Ed and I want to help you not feel so lonely! I feel that if you would just come home and be close to us for a while that we might could get some things straightend out!!!Your big sister

Donna....what you need to understand....every time you and mother visit....you may think everything ended well.....but you are not here to see the depression/disappointment that sets in me knowing not one thing has changed for me. How long do I have to be off the Chrystal meths for you guys to see......it's not THE PROBLEM NEEDING SOLVING FIRST BEFORE EVERYTHING ELSE. YOU GUYS CAN'T TELL WHEN I"M ON IT OR NOT UNLESS I TELL YOU. IN FACT...I TESTED NEG for all drugs at the CRISIS CENTER. I purposely staged all that trying to get arrested without a felony charge. I was there seven days before I even say a doctor, and as he thumbed through seven days of paper work that was in a file with my name on it....he could not figure out why I was even there to begin with. I had been admitted to the crisis center without being charged with any crime or even told why I was handcuffed and brought there by the police instead of jail where I was expecting to be provided a lawyer; or even told I would not be getting one. The whole time I was there, all these uneducated people staff there ( just about all blacks) did was try to put me on DRUGS to sedate me just to make their day go easier!!!!! WHICH I REFUSED!!!!!!! CAUSE ALL THEY SAW WAS AN ANGRY REDNECK FROM ARKANSAS AND NO CLUE WHY CAUSE THEY DIDN'T CARE TO ASK OR EVEN WANT TO LISTEN TO ME WHEN I TRIED.....IT WASN"T IN THEIRE JOB DESCRIPTION!ON TOP OF THAT....MY HEARING AID BATTERY WENT DEAD THE LAST TWO DAYS ON TOP OF NOT HAVING MY GLASSES TO READ WHILE I WAS THERE. THEY KEPT TELLING ME THEY WERE WOKING ON GETTING ME A REPLACEMENT BATTERY AND I NEVER GOT ONE.SEVEN DAYS AND ALL THE DOCTOR DID WAS SWITCHED MY STATUS FROM INVOLUNTARY TO VOLUNTARY AND TOLD ME I COULD CHECK MYSELF OUT UNLESS I WANTED TO STAY THERE LONGER. NO MEDICATION RECOMMENDED OR COUNSELING RECIEVED THE WHOLE TIME THERE.RIGHT BACK WHERE WE STARTED.OBVIOUSLY YOU GUYS HAVE PLENTY TO PREOCCUPY YOUR THOUGHTS THERE. THE LAKE! TENNIS! TUNICA!AND MY FAVORITE.....A FIT OVER TOYS THAT DON"T WORK!STOP MAKING TIME IN YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE TO JUST COME HERE ONLY WASTING MY TIME ENTERTAINING YOU TWO.PLEASE!

Dear JIm Ed, I don't remember sending you anything about our 4th of July Lake trip!!! It was a nice trip even though we had nothing to ride and you were in the crisis center. Our jet ski was not ready and it had a more serious problem than we thougt and we had no way of getting in touch with anybody about you. Only Richard,Mother, Stephanie,Riley,Landon and I went. I pitched a big fit the Thursday before we left because I am so tierd of pulling toys to the lake that don't work!!!!! Landon sat on our jet ski all year with me telling him about how much fun he would have riding it but it didn't happen and the fireworks weren't going to be shot until Monday night and we all had to be home by then so we saw no fireworks at the lake and mother and i were worried about you, other than that I tried to show Landon a good time! WE did miss you and I longed for the old times when we all used to be there. Today, I am just getting home from Prescott. Landon and I went down yesterdy and spent the night with Ninny. I was babysitting Landon since Friday while Steph and Riley went to Hot Springs for their 5 year wedding anniversary. Richard was gone to Tunica. For lunch today, We (Steph,Riley,Dana,Jon,Richard,Landon,Mother and I) met at the Cracvker Barrel in Arkadelhia to Celebrate Mother's 81st birthday. I try to get Landon to see as much of his Great Grandmother as possible!! Of course, Nina and David didn't come to see us so poot on them. David did come and pick mother up to take her back to Prescott and say hi! he is spending the night in Prescott and going to work from there. Nina and David are taking her to the OutBack in Texarkana next weekend. I saw where you text messaged me today and i read them but I'm sorry to say I don't know how to text message back! I cannot bring Helen to Atlanta. Mother and I want to come back and see you and put your house back together!!!!I We love you very much and I know you know that!!!I'm sorry that we aren,t doing what you want us to do to help you get better but I think what mother wrote you in her last letter is what you need to do! Please don't get mad!!!!!!!!Let us come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love you I really do!!!! Your big sister Donna

Dear Little Brother, Mother and I made it home safely about 5:00 and did not get lost once!!! How did your moving of furniture go ? I've thought about that all day. Mother and I had a nice time and you did real good putting up with us!!!!We really would like to help you put your things back after the men are finished with the floors. Landon came over tonight and I let him choose one of the piggy banks from his uncle Jim. He chose the blue one just like I figured because blue is his favorite color. I'm going to let Dana choose from the rest for Cruz. I love you and I hope to hear from you soon!!!!!! LUV DONNA |
